In 1959, ten _E__ wagons were modified for the transport of small railway LCL ( Less than Car Load ) containers.
The numbers were QC 1 to 10.
During 1961, the ten QC wagons were fitted with roller bearing bogies and coded to QCF same numbers retained.
In 1965, the wagons were modified to suit 'bogie exchange'. They were reclassed to QCX.
From the early 1970's the wagons were in tallow traffic. The containers used were insulated vat containers with the tallow kept hot to stop solidifying.
With this traffic gone by 1978, the wagons were converted to _HR_ bogie transport vehicles.
