MHN - Joint Stock Guards Van

Three Joint stock guards vans were provided for the 'Southern Aurora' train service. This service commenced in 1962 and ran between Sydney and Melbourne. It was composed of stainless steel fluted stock built under licence from Budd.

Victoria and New South Wales provided joint funding for construction and maintenance.

The three vans were MHN 2364 to 2366. They were built by Commonwealth Engineering Co. of NSW.

MHN 2366 was renumbered to 2866 for three years 1981 to 1984 before returning to old number 2366. In 1991 it became NSW class AHO 2366.

By the early 1990's the vans were running in NSW service.
