In July 1977, two Refreshment cars entered service. They were converted from two _BS_ cars. The cars were issued as MRS 1 and. They were ex BS 4 and BS 1 (1st) respectively.
The cars were listed as a 'Mini Refreshment' service.
In October 1983, MRS 1 was recoded and renumbered to BRS_ 225.
In April 1984, MRS 2 was recoded and renumbered to BRS 226.
