NAM - Joint Stock Sleeping Car

There were twelve NAM cars allocated for 'Southern Aurora' use. Other cars in the NAM group were allocated for the Brisbane Limited. The NAM class cars were of the 'Twinette' type of sleeper with 20 berths.

The NAM cars that were NSW-VR Joint Stock were numbered 2335 - 2338, 2340 - 2342, 2367, 2368, 2373 - 2375. These cars were built between 1961 and 1963.

Cars 2367, 2368 were built and placed into service on the 'Spirit of Progress' train.

Cars 2339 and 2343 were destroyed in the Violet Town collision of 1969. They were replaced by new cars 2374 ( 1970 ) and 2375 ( 1971 ).

At 1984, Car 2373 is listed as NSW-VR Joint Stock, yet appears to have been issued to service as a car for the Brisbane Limited.

Most of the stock was stored by 1991 and auctioned off during 1994
