In 1983/1984, the 'ex Overland' Twinette and Roomette sleeping cars were classed SJ. These cars were used on the overnight passenger train to Mildura ( 400 miles ) until the service was stopped.
The SJ cars numbers were 281 to 284. Cars 281, 282 were ex No.11 and No.12 Sleeper ( Roomette ). Cars 283, 284 were ex No.13 and No.14 Sleeper ( Twinette ).
The cars were in storage by 1993.
