Two safety wagons were converted for use in 1982. Safety wagons are used by shunting staff for riding on and is used for extra braking when moving long rakes of wagons.
VDSY 1 is ex VQAY 1 and VDSY 2 is ex VQAY 2, both converted March 1982.
VQAY was the code given to the FVF_ class.
In 1988 the vehicles were relettered to VDSF, same numbers.
