About 1988, four VVDY steel freight vans were painted the MET colours of green and yellow striping. The vans were used for the block ballast trains running suburban track maintenance.
The vans were numbered VZDY 51 - 54.
The ballast hopper wagons were also painted matching green with yellow stripes.
