NUU / NU - Narrow Gauge Louvre Van

NUU

Fourteen bogie wooden louvre vans were built for narrow gauge use. They were classed NUU and numbered 1 to 14. They were built in several lots: 1899 to 1901, one in 1906 and six in 1911.

In 1926 the class was relettered to NU, same numbers.

NU

Between 1938 and 1958 many were scrapped and sold.

In 1977, numbers 3 and 10 were removed from railway records and handed over to the Puffing Billy group at Belgrave.

Currently the bodies of NU 7 and 12 are at Moyhu.
