MT - Rail Motor Trailer

The MT class dates back to 1922 when the railways introduced railmotors with trailers. The first twenty four vehicles were four wheeler trailers and the other cars placed into service were bogie vehicles.

Numbers 1 - 24 were built for AEC railcars between 1922 and 1925. Number 25 was a conversion of a standard carriage in 1928. Numbers 26 - 30 were trailers built for the PERM RM's.

Numbers 40 - 42 were trailers used behind motor cars converted for rail use.

Trailer cars 50 - 64 were Walkers railcar trailers placed in service between 1949 and 1954.

Trailers car 31 was converted ex ABW_ car in about 1981.

Cars 32 to 34 were converted from VFW_ from 1981.

Cars 31 to 34 were painted blue/yellow and only ran for about 2-3 years.
