Between 1985 and 1988 some VOWA wagons were reclassed to VZWA. This relettering transferred the wagons from a revenue classification. These wagons had been in mainly departmental service since 1979.
The VOWA numbers were retained. They were: 69, 125, 147, 169, 189, 196, 198, 231, 244, 298, 301, 333, 350, 2015, 2027, 2051, 2356. There may possibly be more conversions.
To segregate wagons in MET suburban maintenance service, the MET VOWA wagons were renumbered into the '2000' numbers; ie 356 became 2356. This renumbering passed onto VZWA.
Not to be confused with VZWA ex HR.
