In the 1910 recoding, the fixed wheel carriage class _AB_ was relettered to XY with new numbers. There were thirty seven cars. They were numbered 1 - 10, 12, 16, 17, 19 - 42. The missing numbers were either allocated to XYH or were numbers allocated for cars that were never converted
Between 1911 and 1958 most cars were progressively scrapped or converted to _W__ works sleepers.
Some cars were altered to Second Class carriages and coded _Y__ with new numbers.
The last of the XY cars was out of service in 1958.
XYH cars numbered 11, 14 and 15 are part of the XY group but reclassed from ABH_. Cars 11 and 15 were removed from service in 1913, car 14 was scrapped in 1933.
