In 1987, 1988 and 1991, one hundred and fifteeen wagons of SFX_ heritage or similar underframe design were 'chopped' and converted to container wagons. End bolsters, side stanchions and deck were removed and replaced with anchor fittings.
Conversions came from: VFLX / VFLY / VFLF, VQEX / VQEY / VQEF, VFTX / VFTY / VFTF and VFMX.
The VQLX do not always follow the old class number, particulary the VFLX numbers. The number group is 1 - 145.
